Initial Set Up

When you first log in to your site, you will be redirected to a set up page. This will help you quickly get your site up and running. Once you’ve selected all the options, click the ‘Set Up Your Site’ button on the top right of the page. You will then be given a tour of the admin and how to navigate around it.

Note: You can access the set up wizard and tour after set up:

  • To access the set up wizard, go to yoursite.mootunes.com.au/wp-admin/admin.php?page=mootunes-set-up-wizard – be careful though – your home page will be reset.
  • To access the frontend tour, go to yoursite.mootunes.com.au/?tour=yes
  • To access the admin tour, go to yoursite.mootunes.com.au/wp-admin/?tour=yes

Content

The following options will help us set up the pages and home page sections you need, getting your site up and running quickly.

Images

Upload some generic pictures of you or your band here. We’ll use these in the default content we generate. We’ll also use these in section templates you can add to your home page later.

Home Page Slider

When your fans first visit your site, you want to make an impression. One way of doing that is with a slider at the top of the home page. You can use this to highlight the content you want your fans to see, like music videos, upcoming gigs, or a new album.

I don’t want a home page slider

This will not show a home page slider on the default home page. You can always add one later.

I want a placeholder slider to edit later

This is the most customizable option. When you edit the slider later, you’ll be able to add slides that link to the various pages, posts and products you want to highlight.

I want a slider that displays recent posts

This is the lazy option. When you add posts, the slider will automatically update to show the most recent ones. This means you don’t need to spend time customizing the slider every time you want to highlight something new. Later, you’ll also be able to specify a specific category to display, giving you more control over the slider without having to constantly customize it.

About Section

The About Section talks about your project’s sound, members, history and achievements.

This option will create both a section on the home page and an about page. When you select this option, a Read More button will appear in the home page section that links to the more detailed About page.

Post Grid

Normally visitors can get to your posts by clicking on the category links that appear in your sites main menu. You may also want to display a grid of posts on your home page, highlighting your most recent news or blog posts.
